Sometimes referred to as Thinleaf Milkwort, Yuan Zhi, or Chinese Senega, Polygala tenuifolia is a root used in traditional Chinese medicine. Early animal research suggests that it may have mood boosting properties and promote brain health. Additional animal research has suggested that Polygala tenuifolia may also have adaptogen-like properties and therefore increases nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Additionally, it may improve spatial organization/recognition and increase cognitive ability.

Wow 2 minutes and it started working. Within 2 minutes it started working. I feel awesome. I just received it almost 25-30 days from USA to India. Sagar Gorijala on 23rd Oct 2016
To me this product made a big difference in my overall mood and made it easier to stay engaged in conversation while attending social events. The world seems more fluently navigation-able. LOGAN on 22nd Oct 2016
Good stuff. Combine 150 mg of this with L-taurine twice a day and watch your mood, focus, and cognitive function take off like Usain Bolt on amphetamine! Glenn on 21st Oct 2016
I'm very impressed with this substance so far (5 days in). It definitely manifests rapid anti-depressive effects in my experience. It also feels very clean and balanced and doesn't really have any side effects so far. The effects are also pretty acute, so I think it will be useful in specific situations as well as for those wishing to take it regularly. I've been sticking to the recommended dosage regime (100 3x) and I find it pairs pretty well with caffeine beverages for pick me up effects. Unknown on 3rd Oct 2016
After previously trying Nyles7's extract, I've now pitched it (still had a good 40 grams left at least) and am using ND's instead. It's totally different (better) in terms of perceptible effects. It's like I imagine an ideal antidepressant to be. Sure to be a staple in many people's' nootropic regimen soon.
HOWEVER on that note - I would steer clear of any monoaminergics used in tandem with this, to reduce propensity for psychosis (on dopaminergics), hypertension (noradrenergics), or hospitalizing (serotonergics) symptoms.
Having said that, I'm looking forward to seeing other people's reports. Very confused as to why this wasn't in the nootropics scene until recently. srubek on 13th Sep 2016
Within a few days of using this product, anhedonia was the first neurological symptom to subside. Cognition is noticeably enhanced and brain fog is rapidly lifting. For the first time in years, learned helplessness is rapidly attenuating -- I feel like living life again after a difficult break-up of a year long relationship that occurred one month ago.
It seems to be having a positive effect on sleep architecture as well (even had several lucid dream experiences the past few evenings). Slow wave sleep is noticeably enhanced as well -- I feel extremely refreshed in the morning as opposed to my usual grogginess and look forward to my day rather than dreading it.
As opposed to pharmaceutical psychiatric drugs, this feels balanced and natural.
SSRI's cause paresthesias, akathisia, and sexual anhedonia.
Norepinephrine and/or dopamine reuptake inhibitors cause sympathomimetic side effects.
Haven't noticed any nasty anticholinergic side effects either.
Dopamine reuptake inhibitors have a "pushy" feel to them -- Polygala lacks the "edgy push" of typical dopaminergics and almost has an entactogenic/entheogenic feel to it.
I'm extremely impressed with the quality of the product as well -- finely milled, excellent packaging, prompt customer service. Polygala will now become a permanent addition to my nootropic/psychiatric stack: I'm only a few days in and am looking forward to neurological benefits in the years to come. MANY THANKS Nootropics Depot for discovering, researching, and providing this quality "treasure" from China!
I will be recommending this product to family, friends, and co-workers.
Two question: Should I cycle, or can it be used on a daily basis?
