What are Chaga Mushroom Extract Capsules?

Chaga mushroom, or scientifically referred to as Inonotus obliquus, is a fungus in the Hymenochaetaceae family. Chaga mushroom is known to grow primarily on birch trees in cold climates. Chaga mushroom grows wild in Russia, Siberia, Northern Canada, Northern Europe, Korea, and Alaska. The Chaga mushroom produces a dark woody growth known as a conk. The Chaga mushroom conk has been used in several practices and has several purported Chaga health benefits. Chaga is also known by names like Inonotus obliquus, clinker polypore, and sterile conk. The Chaga mushroom has an irregular shape and the outer appearance of burnt charcoal. The burnt charcoal appearance is due to high amounts of melanin. Interestingly, the inside of the Chaga mushroom is typically a bright orange color.

Chaga Mushroom Health Benefits

Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) grows in birch forests of Russia, Korea, Eastern and Northern Europe, northern areas of the United States, particularly in the North Carolina mountains and in Canada. Chaga mushroom has been used as a folk remedy in Russia and other North-European countries for centuries and its use is still fairly common today. Eastern European cultures, and others using Traditional Chinese practices, have known of the Chaga mushroom benefits for centuries.

Many people believe that a Chaga supplement could produce various Chaga benefits. However, due to the bitter taste of raw Chaga mushroom, traditional practices involve making a Chaga tea or Chaga tincture, so that people can take advantage of the Chaga benefits without having to endure the bitter and harsh taste of Inonotus obliquus mushroom. In fact, this practice is still very popular today. Dozens of people have shared numerous Chaga tea recipes and different methods on how to make Chaga mushroom tea and even Chaga coffee online. So what is Chaga good for?

Chaga fungus is rich in fiber and other essential nutrients such as Vitamin D, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, and Iron. Some people believe that these nutrients may play a role in the various Chaga health benefits. Additionally, Chaga fungus is high in melanin content which may promote skin health. In addition to these Chaga mushroom benefits, Chaga also carries properties that may promote healthy inflammation levels as well and Melanin is also believed to potentially support healthy oxidation processes.* Anecdotal evidence supports Chaga mushroom benefits for cellular, immune, and cardiovascular health but further studies are still being conducted to further verify these claims.*

    Surprisingly it worked!

Posted by Mike on 26th Nov 2022

Started exploring the world of mushrooms in an attempt to manage recurring bursitis in my feet, as I was sick of having to do a cycle of paracetamol and NSAIDS every couple of months and still having residual discomfort. A combo of chaga, white jelly and curcumin has gotten things under control - no further residual discomfort - remains to be seen how well it can work when it comes to longer term prevention. I'm taking the chaga twice a day with white jelly mushroom, and as an interesting side effect, my sleep is a bit more deep/solid.

    Inflammation and cholesterol

Posted by Unknown on 17th Dec 2019

I use this coll unknown mushroom for inflammation and cholesterol. It has worked really well for me. The powder is a nice deep dark black showing it is a good quality. Chaga may not have as much hype as some of the other like lions mane and reishi, but I have gotten great effects from it.
