Fish oil is a dietary source of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids, meaning they are not produced naturally in the body and must be obtained from food. Eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, usually referred to as EPA and DHA, are two common types of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and are primarily found in fatty fish such as salmon, trout, and various shellfish. However, EPA and DHA can also be found in various non meat products like yogurt, eggs, butter, and cheese. EPA and DHA have been researched extensively for their roles in fish oil benefits.
EPA and DHA are considered to be the foundation of most fish oil benefits. DHA is most abundant omega-3 fatty acid in cell membranes and most abundant in the brain and retina. Although, EPA is only structurally present in small quantities, it is always being utilized while DHA acts primarily in a structural role. DHA stays attached to the glycerol backbone. This means that DHA freely moves into the gut while the other fatty acids have to re-bind to a glycerol molecule or could potentially be oxidized. Research has indicated that DHA is a major building block of the brain and it is believed to promote brain health and other neurological functions. Subjects in a small research study that took a DHA supplement reported heart and cognitive benefits. Studies show that EPA may be the dominant fatty acid in terms of pain management benefits. Although, EPA is known well known for its joint and inflammation benefits, Research has found that EPA seems to promote skin health when ingested orally. Additionally, evidence supports that EPA is effective at supporting cognitive function. Several studies found that EPA had additional memory and cognitive benefits.
An approximate balance of 35% DHA and 35% EPA is concentrated in these softgel capsules through a method known as molecular distillation. It is believed that this process results in a substantially "cleaner" Omega-3 fatty acid. Mixed Tocopheral is included to preserve freshness. Research has indicated that DHA is a major building block of the brain. It is believed to promote brain health and other neurological functions. Additionally, evidence supports that EPA is most effective at supporting cognitive function.

I noticed a big difference in my whole wellbeing after about three or so days. The most noticeable improvement is my skin, hair, and nails looking much healthier. I think it has a synergistic effect on my other nootropic stacks as well. I’ve also noticed no fishy burps which is a major plus. I’m very pleased with this product and will be buying more once this stash is out. I wouldn’t mind a higher count as well as others have mentioned. Nick on 27th Feb 2019
Great product, definitely helped me. I only wish they were a bit cheaper or came in larger quantities. The 60 ct jar barely lasts a month since most scientific studies recommend higher amounts of DHA/EPA...
ND Admin: We can consider offering a larger size. I will bring it up with the team. R on 27th Apr 2018
Good general, all-arounder. Sizing of this product is a bit ridiculous considering how many most of us need to take for our daily omega 3 goal so I'm very surprised that a 120 ct (at the very least) isn't offered. In fact, for that reason, I opted for a different brand fish oil for the past few months but figured I 'd switch it up for a month. Rob on 27th Feb 2018
These are great. The oil is clear and does not cause fishy smelling belches. I like the 50-50 distribution of EPA and DHA. However I find that I need to order these frequently and in multiples. I take 3 a day to reach the level of Omega 3 that I'm looking for so the 60-ct. jar doesn't last that long. Any chance we could get something like a 250 or 500-ct? Unknown on 26th Feb 2018
I love these fish oil softgels--they have higher levels of EPA and DHA than most others I've seen, and I trust ND's quality more than other brands. I just wish that I could buy them in a bigger size. Since most of the studies I've seen on fish oil find beneficial effects at 1+ gram of EPA or DHA, I take 3 of these per day. In other words, I go through a bottle of these soft gels in only 20 days. It would be nice if they came in a 120 ct or 240 ct size. Unknown on 24th Dec 2017
