Description

What Are 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF Capsules?

4'-Dimethylamino 7,8 Dihydroxyflavone (4’-DMA-7,8-DHF) is a nootropic compound derivative of the naturally occurring flavone 7,8 Dihydroxyflavone (7,8 DHF). 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF differs from 7,8-DHF by the addition of a dimethylamino group off the 4 position on the flavone base structure. A dimethyl amino group consists of a nitrogen atom with two methyl groups.

Chemical Properties of 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF

4’-DMA-7,8-DHF is slightly water soluble and also slightly lipid soluble, this is derived from the cLogP value of 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF, which is 2.28. This means that 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF can readily transition from the aqueous phase to the lipid phase. Below is an in depth description of 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF chemical properties:

Molecular formula: C17H15NO4

Molecular weight: 297.31 g/mol

Number of Heavy Atoms: 22

Number of aromatic heavy atoms: 16

Fraction of SP3 Carbon: 0.12

Number of rotatable bonds: 2

Number of hydrogen bond acceptors: 4

Number of hydrogen bond donors: 2

Molar refractivity: 86.17

Topological polar surface area: 73.91 square Angstrom

CAS: 1205548-04-4

IUPAC: 2-[4'-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-7,8-dihydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one

What Is The Difference Between 7,8 DHF and 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF?

4’-DMA-7,8-DHF shares the same chemical structure as 7,8 DHF, but with the addition of a dimethylamino group at the 4 position off the flavone base structure. The dimethylamino significantly changes a few key chemical properties of 7,8 DHF, of particular note are:

Number of heavy atoms (4’-DMA-7,8-DHF gains 3 heavy atoms)

  • 7,8 DHF: 19

  • 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF: 22

Fraction of SP3 Carbon (difference of 0.12)

  • 7,8 DHF: 0.00

  • 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF: 0.12

Rotatable bond (4’-DMA-7,8-DHF gains 1 additional rotatable bond)

  • 7,8 DHF: 1 rotatable bond

  • 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF: 2 rotatable bonds

Molar refractivity (difference of 14.2)

  • 7,8 DHF: 71.97

  • 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF: 86.17

The rest of the chemical properties stay largely unchanged, for example, 7,8 DHF and 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF have the same amount of aromatic heavy atoms, hydrogen bond donors and hydrogen bond acceptors. Their cLogP’s are also very similar (7,8 DHF: 2.35 vs 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF: 2.28), thereby indicating that 7,8 DHF and 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF are going to largely have the same water and lipid soluble properties. Their topological polar surface area is also very similar, and only differs by 3.24 square Angstrom (7,8 DHF: 70.67 vs 4’-DMA-7,8-DHF: 73.91).

    4'-DMA-7,8-DMF

My wife and I are elderly and each takes 2 capsules of 4'-DMA-7,8-DHF, as a daily dietary supplement. Based on evidence from scientific studies, the supplement has beneficial properties related to brain function. One important property relates to memory formation. Memory formation, involving “synaptic plasticity” is defined as dynamic changes in structure of synapses and synaptic connections in a brain region mediating memory formation. An important mediator of synaptic plasticity in brain is a small protein, called Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). BDNF is secreted within brain and is not taken up readily from blood. BDNF interacts (binds) with an enzyme receptor to produce ultimate synaptic plasticity effects. Interestingly, the enzyme can be activated by a naturally occurring small plant molecule called 7,8 dihydroxyflavone (DHF), which, when given orally, can reach brain tissue. Nonetheless, blood borne DHF is largely eliminated by liver, so less becomes available for take-up in the brain. A synthetically modified DHF is 4'-Dimethylamino-7,8-dihydroxyflavone (4'-DMA-7,8-DHF), which also readily reaches brain tissue and has longer action duration.

    Easily one of my favorites

This is a great product, I'm surprised to see such mixed reviews but I know everyone's chemistry is different. I really feel significant difference in my energy and awareness when i take this vs. when I do not. Once in awhile I'll take two capsules early in the morning when I'm swamped at work with great results (I don't recommend doing this regularly though). I believe it has a long half-life, so it's best to take early to avoid sleep interactions. It's on the pricey side but I recommend giving it a try.

    Life-changing but has caveats

This has repaired most of the brain fog I've been suffering from for the past year, but there are 2 major issues that need to be addressed if you're going to take it: 1. Headaches. You may need to supplement heavily with a choline source to avoid headaches. Citicholine and centrophenoxine are my go-tos but others should work. 2. Sleep. Numerous users have reported sleep issues with this because it remains bioactive for 8-12 hours, and I experienced this for about a week, but I've actually found that taking it shortly before bed results in better sleep with fewer interruptions than I've had in a very long time, which might be due to a rebound effect as it wears off (I speculate this may be also be related to how TRKB suppresses orexin-a). I'm also taking polygala as this seems to be a consistent factor for people that have had a good experience with this.

    These nootropics are great!

The compounds of this supplement were exactly what I was looking for and they work great. It's easiest to take these when you don't have anything else to do for the day, because they are hard on the digestion process.

    Caused anxiety, insomnia

I was really hopeful for this product when I read the reviews, but it amped up my anxiety and brought on horrible insomnia (even though I took it early in the morning and took polygala in the afternoon to "regulate" it). I'm glad it's worked for some, but not for me. I wish I could send back the bottle, but ND has a strict no-returns policy on open merchandise.

    Most useful product here

Top quality as usual, I won’t buy anywhere else. Also one of the most useful products here, it’s very much like the original 7,8-dihydroxyflavone but works consistently and without requiring sublingual dosing.

Excellent for neural plasticity. Personally the best supplement I've tried for my situation, that's after 15 years of following the nootropics game.

It doesn't help me get by. it helps me get better

I have struggled with serious mood problems for several years, at times truly debilitating, a result of some trauma and natural disposition. I have put off writing a review, but it's been such a help to me I feel obligated to recommend it to others. First, I do not "feel" anything immediate or discrete when taking this. It's not like caffeine or some of the racetams, so I would not expect that response. But after taking it about a week, I find that my baseline mood and disposition is improved, as well as mental clarity. It is as if it gets me "unstuck" from the (negative) patterns of mood and thoughts that had been weighing me down. It doesn't brighten or lift my mood per se, but it feels like it promotes new pathways to move away from those existing patterns, both emotionally and cognitively. And it feels perfectly natural, like I am just "getting out of the rut" or "finding my way out of a dark place" -- not some artificial or altered experience, nor like a masking. I have not had any side effects like emotional blunting or mental fog like so many conventional treatments I have tried. In fact, it is just the opposite, my mind is clearer than it has been in years. I think this mechanism of action is truly a breakthrough. You should give this a try as a daily "maintenance" nootropic for a few weeks, there is nothing else like it on the market.

    It's near-death experience in a bottle.

At least, thats the best way I could describe it. I stopped taking it because it seemed kind of pointless/not worth it to me. My experience: I bumped my head and got a light concussion at work after being on this stuff for a week, and after that for another week+, Id wake up every single day thinking I was still at work. Another user on Reddit also reported that after starting and taking it, he had a dream where a strange man said "I hope you know youll never forget this moment." I will say that I seemed to experience increased precision in my motor skills. Not fine motor skills, but full body motor skills. I'd say this with a ~7/10 rating that it was NOT placebo. I was trying to take it for nerve pain, and it mightve helped, tho Id only rate this a 6/10 chance that that effect wasnt placebo. So this isnt a useless product. It just seems to me that what it does achieve, it does so in a way thats not suitable for regular use. The title of my review sums up what I think it does. Youre not wasting your money if you want to experiment with it though, by any means. Its not a sugar pill. Oh I almost forget that the very first time I took it, I felt a shot of euphoria some 15 or 30 minutes in. Like the description says, it is fast acting. That feeling was followed by a sense of seriousness. I guess you could call the feeling positive or uplifting, but Id describe it more as that I cared about what happened next and seriousness. And the dosing seems pretty proper to me. You could probably take 2 an hour apart if you wanted to yet I could tell that it was doing something with just one. Thats all I got. Knock yourself out lol

    Mild stimulation and mood lift

I started with one capsule (felt nothing) and titrated my dose up to 4 capsules. I felt the same at 32mg as 16mg, which is mild stimulation and the kind of mood lift one might get as the effects of a phenethylamine type compound might give as it sets in. However, it never becomes euphoric in this sense. I am curious to try taking a higher dose to see what happens... No noticeable side effects.

    Helpful product

This nootropic is definitely subtle. I’ve decided to keep it in the rotation as I feel like I felt sharper and less run down after long work weeks. The effect is more noticeable in looking at what’s no longer present during burnout days than looking for active effects.

    Mood Enhancer Par Excellence

I cannot begin to say enough about this nootropic. Since not a lot is known about long-term use, I only take it once a week but each time I take it it is my favorite day of the week by far. Music sounds better, my mood boost, I am very talkative while at the same time able to be focused and concentrate on whatever I want. I advise not taking it after 7 AM because it lasts all day and all night. More research is needed, because its effects are profound.

I used this in a stack with Noopept, L-tyrosine, and piracetam. It's a softer pull than the Aniracetam push. I think it may shine brightest next to Noopept alone.

    4'-dma-7, 8-dhf

Cost me just under $100. Took them regularly, in the dosage I found online, since the morning after I received them. Can honestly say I didn't feel not one single effect or difference from them, nothing at all. The only thing "different" in my body or mind after starting taking them was some mild kidney pain. That seemed to stop after about ten days, didn't notice it beyond that. Either way, can't say I recommend it. Unless you're an individual who knows that they are personally quite prone to experiencing placebo effects.

    Mental energy

I tried this supplement for the first time about 6 weeks ago. I have never taken Tropoflavin before, just jumped on over to Eutropoflavin. One pill in the morning or early afternoon is just enough to provide mental energy and motivation to stay awake and get things done. I have even observed a subtle, but noticable, improvement in my short-term memory. As someone with ongoing issues with mental and physical exhaustion/fatigue, I found this supplement to be helpful while not overpowering like a stimulant. I did try taking 2 pills in 1 day, hours apart, and noticed some odd tingling in my feet. However, I can't say for sure this was due to the Eutropoflavin. I probably didn't need to try 2 since 1 is just enough and the form is easily bioavailable. Recommended for those needing a mental boost without the negative side effects of a stimulant.

    not sure yet

The first time I took a half dose and didn't feel anything. The next time I took a full capsule and felt good but nothing too noticeable. The third time i took a full dose I felt weird/off somehow. Hard to explain. I'm not sure if I"m supposed to take with food or on an empty stomach. My husband gets a good mood boost and more motivation when he takes it.
