I love this ginseng, it provides a boost in energy, both mentally and physically. helps keep me from over reacting to situations, especially while driving long distances. I also love the other ND Panax Ginseng root extract and often combine them. I don't take it on a daily basis, I will usually take it 2-3 days then take a 1-3 day break.
So, I just received this product and started using it with a couple of other nootropics, so I will not make any comments about the effects of this, for now at least, because its both too soon and hard to define which effect comes specifically from this product. However, I am very dissatisfied by two things already. 1- The powder is VERY insoluble in water. I don't know if it was because of temperature variations during the overseas shipping, but the powder has hardened into solid rocks, and its very hard to dissolve that. I this powder is supposed to be dissolved using a particular method, it should be previously stated! The product description here says it has exceptional absorption, but its so insoluble that its hard to believe that. 2- I honestly don't understand why it's so hard for the producers/Company to just kindly provide a scaled scoop to handle the powder. I mean, how hard would it be to just give a scoop measuring exactly 200mg of that specific powder, so that I wouldn't completely depend on a weighing machine So far I haven't been able to access the effects, I shall write another review covering this when the time comes ND Admin: Panax ginseng root always clumps, no matter what type of extract it is. That's just a normal property of the extracts of panax ginseng root. Extracts of the leaves do not have that problem. So if clumping is a big issue, we suggest going with the leaf extract instead. Regarding scoops, they are not accurate forms of measurement. Powders vary in density based on milling size, which can change batch-to-batch. Accuracy in dosing matters. We feel it is irresponsible to continually promote the use of scoops as instruments of dosing, as they are NOT accurate. Weight-based dosing is always going to be more accurate than volumetric dosing. We always suggest using a milligram scale for measuring powders. We offer this product in capsules if weighing the powder is not an option.
I'm giving 4 stars because I have bought this extract in liquid form directly from Ilhwa before, and it is very good. BUT I am removing a star because the package is misleading: Why write that the transfer scoop isn't accurate, if there it no transfer scoop at all? I am very disappointed because now I have to use a scale and I don't have ustensils that are really adequate, I will lose a lot of time and probably a part of the product. I didn't mind not getting exactly 200 mg on every dose, but I do mind having to weight my doses everyday.
My jar has been with me for weeks and I still have plenty left. This is due to I think the purity and how fast it works. I use it in the afternoon when I start to get that mental fatigue. However I would say that like most ginseng its going to diminish in effectiveness after 6-8 weeks of use. Consult examine.com or pubmed.
I take 200 mg in the morning before work as well as my 1-3 polygala tenuifolia 10:1 capsules throughout the day and I feel a very sustained energy. Its a very nice blend and it tastes very well. I highly recommend.
About to buy again, should say it all. I take a lot of nootropics, this tends to be at the core of every batch I make. Hard to quantify or correlate its exact value when there are so many variables. N=1 seems to hold value & has me hitting the buy button again.
I did notice a subtle energy boost, but did experience bloating at modest doses (200mg.) At least this kept my appetite at bay...!
The GS15-4 gives you subtle energy. Something you can feel but not overwhelming like straight caffeine. I'm looking forward to trying other Ginseng products from Nootropics Depot. As always it got to me quickly
Great product. I love this product for mental and physical energy. Also helps with recouperation after a serious workout.
This is an excellent substance and feels more "well rounded" and balanced than a lot of the commercial ginseng's that have have an edgier, speedier feel. This one enhances well being. Having said that I like to combine 200 mg of this extract with about 75mg of the more stimulating leaf extract that ND also sells. I can go all day with that combo.
