Why this product had to exist

Your sulforaphane capsule has a stomach acid problem.

Sulforaphane itself is too unstable to bottle, so nearly every product on the shelf packs two things into a capsule instead: glucoraphanin, the stable precursor, and myrosinase, the enzyme that converts it. The plan is that your stomach finishes the job. The problem is that myrosinase barely functions at stomach-acid pH, and the conversion mostly never happens. Home-grown broccoli sprouts run into the same chemistry.

The capsule route

Conversion is left to your stomach.

How glucoraphanin + myrosinase capsules are designed to work

1
You swallow the capsule

Glucoraphanin and myrosinase travel down together, unconverted.

2
Stomach acid hits the enzyme pH 1.2

Myrosinase is highly pH-sensitive. At gastric pH it is largely inactivated before it can do its one job.

3
Only a fraction converts

With the enzyme largely inactivated at gastric pH, most of the precursor passes through without ever becoming sulforaphane.

The chemistry stalls exactly where the label needs it to work.

The SulfoMax route

Conversion finishes before you drink.

The same chemistry, moved outside your body

1
Stir one scoop into water buffered pH

Potassium bicarbonate holds the glass at a pH where myrosinase actually works, with vitamin C as a catalyst.

2
Wait five minutes

Myrosinase from white mustard seed converts the black kale glucoraphanin into active sulforaphane, right in the glass.

3
Drink it

Sulforaphane itself is stable in gastric fluid. Once conversion is done, your stomach acid no longer gets a vote.

In our dissolution testing, SulfoMax's sulforaphane held stable through simulated gastric fluid.

The deep dive

Sulforaphane switches on Nrf2, your body's primary detoxification pathway.

Most antioxidants add one molecule to mop up one radical. Sulforaphane works differently: it flips on Nrf2, the switch your cells use to run their own cleanup and defense work. With that switch on, your body produces more of its own protective enzymes. That is why the research spans energy, mental clarity, focus, a healthy inflammatory response, and healthy aging. And it only matters if active sulforaphane actually arrives, which is the part SulfoMax was engineered to guarantee.

VERIFIED 01

27mg active in the glass

Each serving converts to 27mg of active sulforaphane during the five-minute mix, quantified by UPLC rather than estimated from precursor math.

VERIFIED 02

Stable through stomach acid

In our Distek dissolution testing, SulfoMax's sulforaphane held stable through simulated gastric fluid at pH 1.2 and pH 3. Active sulforaphane is acid-stable; the fragile step already happened in your glass.

VERIFIED 03

Third-party lab tested

Made in Arizona in an FDA-registered facility, independently GMP certified, with third-party lab testing and a published COA.

01

Your own antioxidant defenses

Rather than adding antioxidants one molecule at a time, sulforaphane signals your cells to make more of their own defense enzymes. Research suggests that supports antioxidant balance at the source, in the cells doing the work. [1][2][3]

02

A healthy inflammatory response

In studies with human immune cells, research suggests sulforaphane helps keep inflammatory signals balanced, dialing them up or down as needed rather than shutting anything off. [5][6]

03

Mental clarity and focus

In cell models, research suggests switching on Nrf2 in the brain's support cells helps shield nearby neurons from oxidative stress. That protection is a central reason sulforaphane is studied for steady mental clarity and focus. [1][11]

04

Long-term cellular resilience

In models of aging and oxidative stress, research suggests sulforaphane may help reawaken cellular defenses that slow down over time. This is the healthy-aging side of the story, and the reason the longevity community started here. [3][4][12]

The road to SulfoMax

This product exists because the capsule approach failed our own testing.

1

Sulforaphane got popular, and sprouts were the answer.

When longevity research pushed sulforaphane into the spotlight, the standard advice was to grow broccoli sprouts at home. Most people tried it for a few weeks and quit.

2

Bottling sulforaphane directly turned out to be a dead end.

Pure sulforaphane is unstable and degrades quickly, especially with heat. A shelf-stable pure product was not a serious option.

3

The industry settled on a workaround: precursor plus enzyme in a capsule.

Combine glucoraphanin with myrosinase and hope the conversion happens after swallowing. Nobody was publishing whether it actually did.

4

We tested the workaround in simulated digestion, and the chemistry failed.

We ran glucoraphanin and myrosinase combinations through our Distek dissolution tester. In simulated gastric fluid, conversion barely happened. In intestinal-pH fluid, the same combinations converted fine. The ingredients were never the problem. The enzyme cannot survive the stomach.

5

So we moved the conversion into the glass.

A buffered powder that creates the right pH environment in water, months of formulation against UPLC data, and a five-minute ritual that finishes the chemistry before you drink. That is SulfoMax.

In the glass

Five minutes in water does the job your stomach chemistry would have blocked.

The precursor

360mg of Purebkale™ black kale extract, standardized to 17% glucoraphanin. This is the stable storage form of sulforaphane.

Black kale, 17% glucoraphanin

The enzyme, protected

240mg of white mustard seed powder supplies myrosinase, the highest myrosinase content among the brassicas we evaluated. Potassium bicarbonate buffers the water so the enzyme stays active, and 12mg of vitamin C catalyzes the reaction.

Buffered pH + catalyst

The active compound

Five minutes later the glass holds 27mg of active sulforaphane, which is stable in gastric fluid. You drink the finished product, not the ingredients for one.

27mg delivered per serving
5:00

The wait is the mechanism, not a chore. Those five minutes are when the buffered environment lets myrosinase run the conversion to completion, which is exactly the step stomach acid interrupts in capsule products.

Once absorbed, sulforaphane works through the Nrf2 pathway.

Sulforaphane is one of the most studied natural activators of Nrf2, a transcription factor that regulates your body's own cytoprotective machinery. Tap each card for the mechanism detail.

Gut rhythm

Why gut timing matters for a sulforaphane supplement.

Digestion is a timing system: what your gut does with anything you swallow depends on what stage your digestive process is currently in. A capsule that still needs its conversion chemistry to happen inside you is betting on that timing. SulfoMax removed the bet. The conversion finishes in the glass, so the sulforaphane you drink is already active no matter which phase your gut is in.

The cycle, hands on

That cycle is the migrating motor complex, or MMC: mostly quiet (Phase I), then irregular contractions (Phase II), then a brief housekeeping wave (Phase III, the growl you hear when you have not eaten) before it resets and repeats. Drag the capsule across one fasted cycle, or drop it at random, and see what each arrival time would mean for a capsule that still has to convert inside you.

Drag the capsule, or use arrow keys
Phase I: quiet

Acid exposure: extended Enzyme survival: unlikely
SulfoMax opts out of the roulette. The conversion is already finished in your glass, so every phase of the cycle delivers the same active sulforaphane.

Conceptual illustration. Cycle timing varies between individuals and between cycles.

The formula

Every ingredient in the scoop has a conversion job.

Nothing here is filler. The 3g serving is a complete conversion system: precursor, enzyme, catalyst, buffer, and matrix, each dosed for the chemistry that happens in your glass.

360mg

Purebkale™ Black Kale Extract

17% glucoraphanin

The sulforaphane precursor. Brassica oleracea, standardized so every scoop carries the same convertible payload.

Myrosinase source

Sinapis alba carried the highest myrosinase content among the brassicas we evaluated. It runs the conversion.

12mg

Vitamin C

Ascorbic acid

A cofactor that catalyzes the glucoraphanin-to-sulforaphane reaction during the five-minute window.

600mg

Potassium Bicarbonate

234mg potassium

Buffers the water to the pH range where myrosinase stays active. This is the piece capsule products cannot replicate.

1788mg

Acacia Fiber

Mixing matrix

Gum arabic gives the powder an even suspension so the enzyme and precursor actually meet in the glass.

UPLC Standardized Bioactives Distek dissolution testing, SGF and SIF cGMP, FDA-registered US facility 3rd Party Batch COAs
Daily use

The routine takes one scoop and five minutes each morning.

Stir one scoop into water

One 3g scoop into a glass of water, stirred well. The buffer system sets the pH as it dissolves.

Let it sit five minutes

This is the conversion window. Glucoraphanin becomes active sulforaphane while you make coffee.

Drink it with food

Once daily, in the morning, alongside your breakfast. The sulforaphane is already active, so digestion timing no longer matters.

Set expectations like a researcher. SulfoMax is not a stimulant. Some effects show up early; the deeper Nrf2-driven benefits build over two to three weeks of consistent daily use as your body's own defense systems respond.

Questions

The questions our most research-minded customers ask first.

Why is SulfoMax a powder instead of a capsule?+

Two reasons, both from our testing. Sulforaphane degrades rapidly with heat, which rules out pre-converted forms in most manufacturing. And the capsule strategy of converting after you swallow fails in practice, because myrosinase is inactivated at stomach-acid pH. A powder lets the conversion finish in your glass, where we can control the chemistry.

Why do I have to wait five minutes?+

The wait is the mechanism. Those five minutes are when myrosinase converts glucoraphanin into active sulforaphane inside the buffered water. Drinking it early means swallowing unconverted precursor, which puts you back in the same position as a capsule.

Another brand's label shows a bigger sulforaphane number. Why does yours matter more?+

A label number usually describes conversion potential under ideal conditions, not what reaches you as active sulforaphane. We report our numbers with their scope stated: the finished serving delivers 27mg of active sulforaphane, quantified by UPLC after the in-glass conversion, and in our dissolution testing that sulforaphane held stable through simulated gastric fluid at pH 1.2 and pH 3. Whatever product you compare, ask the same two questions: what is active before you swallow it, and what survives digestion.

Is this better than growing broccoli sprouts?+

Sprouts contain real glucoraphanin and myrosinase, but eating them raw runs into the same stomach-acid chemistry as capsules, and homegrown sprouts deliver an unknown, variable dose. SulfoMax gives you a standardized 27mg serving with the conversion completed before you drink. If you enjoy growing sprouts, nothing here argues against a hobby. It argues against relying on one.

When will I notice anything?+

SulfoMax is not a stimulant, so judge it the way you would any Nrf2-pathway compound: on consistency. Some people notice effects early on, and the full picture builds over two to three weeks of daily use as your body's own defense systems respond.

How does it mix, and what does it taste like?+

The acacia fiber base suspends evenly in water with a quick stir, and the potassium bicarbonate gives the glass a lightly mineral character. It is an unflavored, functional drink in the same spirit as greens powders. Room-temperature water works best for the conversion.
