Nice little brain boost

The term ‘yeast extract’ is a term for yeast products made by removing the cell walls from the yeast cells and extracting the cell contents. Yeast extract is often used for flavorings and as a food additive. Yeast extract can exist as a liquid or dried into a paste or powder. Yeast extract can be found in a variety of foods such as crackers, gravy, and frozen meals. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a species of yeast that has been instrumental in baking, brewing, and winemaking process for thousands of years. It is thought to have been first isolated from the skin of grapes. Yeast extracts tend to be a good source of B vitamins, especially B1-3, B6 and B12. B vitamins have been found to be involved in metabolizing carbohydrates, proteins and fats into usable energy. Research has found that B vitamins support the health of skin, hair, and nails. In some studies Vitamin B12 has shown positive effects on cognition. Yeast extract is high in beta glucans. Beta glucans are sugars within the cell walls of yeasts, fungi, bacteria, algae and other plants and are sometimes used for health boosting purposes. Yeast extract benefits are largely attributed to beta glucans.
Beta glucans are naturally occurring polysaccharides and are found in certain foods such as barley, oats, yeasts and certain species of mushrooms. Foods like oats that are often promoted for their cardiovascular benefits are rich in beta glucans. What many don’t know is beta glucans uses extend beyond beta glucan heart health benefits. Some species of mushrooms have been known for their immune function promoting effects for thousands of years in the eastern hemisphere of the world. Modern research has found that these properties are largely due to biologically active polysaccharides known as beta glucans.
Preliminary studies suggest that beta glucans promote immune system function. Beta glucans support the host immune defense by enhancing macrophages. Macrophages are large white blood cells whose job is to rid the body of microscopic debris. Macrophages locate and neautralize various stressors to the body. Several research studies on beta glucans have been conducted to measure the immune health benefits in animals and in humans. Results across the board suggest that beta glucans may help promote immune function and help speed up recovery from various stressors. Some studies also revealed that beta glucans can support healthy stress levels. A study on mice revealed that beta glucans may help defend against the negative effects of exercise induced stress.
Since Nootropics Depot’s yeast extract is standardized to 50% beta glucans, it can produce all the above benefits such as immune system support and cognitive function support at an optimal beta glucan dosage.* Taking a yeast extract that is high in beta glucans daily may help promote healthy immune, organ and brain function.*
For something to be considered gluten free, it must have less than 20ppm (parts per million) of gluten. Tests on our brand of yeast extract did not detect any traceable gluten at 20ppm.
As a dietary supplement, take one 500mg Yeast Extract capsule once daily.

I suppose this is kind of ND's spin on EpiCor. It's an extract high in beta-glucan and other nutrients. Given it's now winter (and not to mention the pandemic) this supplement is a great value purchase. So far it's working great!
