Tart Cherry
Tart cherry
The Tart Cherry, or as it's sometimes named, sour, dwarf, or Montmorency cherries, have become widely popular over the last few years. Tart Cherry is native to southwest Asia and most of Europe. It is related to the sweet cherry but bears much more sour fruit. An easy way to identify Tart Cherries from sweet cherries is by their color. Sweet cherries are typically a darker red color, whereas Tart Cherries maintain a vibrant red color after being harvested.
Dried Tart Cherries are used in everything from baked goods to soups and meat dishes but they also carry some lesser-known, yet intriguing Tart Cherry benefits! Compared to sweet cherries, Tart Cherries are known to carry larger amounts of Anthocyanins and are better at promoting balanced oxidation levels. In fact, several studies have found that Tart Cherries strongly supported balanced inflammation levels and even promoted muscle growth and recovery.
Research across many fields determined that there was a particular compound in Tart Cherries known as Anthocyanins that seem to be responsible for its myriad of Tart Cherry benefits. However, it’s important to realize that a lot of Tart Cherry supplements do not standardize to bioactive compounds like the Anthocyanins. It is important to standardize to these Anthocyanins, as they are responsible for the bulk of Tart Cherry extract benefits. Fortunately, modern technology and cutting edge research have allowed us to create a highly potent Tart Cherry extract, standardized to an outstanding 10% Anthocyanins! Let's get into the benefits this may have for you!
Anthocyanins are one of the primary groups of pigments that are responsible for the red, orange, and blue colors in flowers, fruits, and vegetables. However, recent interest in Anthocyanins has surged due to the possible Anthocyanin health benefits. Anthocyanins are known to provide great support of balanced oxidation levels but studies have also shown that Tart Cherries with a high Anthocyanin content promoted balanced inflammation levels and even cardiovascular function!
Further investigation into the inflammation benefits of a high Anthocyanin Tart Cherry supplement led to some other interesting discoveries. Animal studies found that Anthocyanins appeared to promote cognitive function. This correlation is believed to be due to the impact Anthocyanins have on inflammation and oxidation levels. Additional human research aimed to examine the potential metabolic and cardiovascular benefits of Anthocyanins. Results from several trials found that a Tart Cherry supplement with high levels of Anthocyanins supported metabolic and cardiovascular function and these results were replicated in both in vivo and in vitro research. Some other interesting research in the realm of Tart Cherry benefits found that Tart Cherry helps support balanced uric acid levels. Results from this research support long-standing claims that Tart Cherry’s impact on uric acid levels promotes joint comfort and function.
Unlike other extracts on the market, Nootropics Depot’s Tart Cherry is standardized to Anthocyanins. This is not another run of the mill 4:1 Tart Cherry extract! What makes Nootropics Depot’s Tart Cherry extract different from other Tart Cherry extracts is that we standardize for a high amount of Anthocyanins resulting in an effective, affordable and consistent extract compared to an ordinary Tart Cherry supplement with unknown levels of bioactives. We’ve standardized this extract to 10% Anthocyanins.

If you want a review about the effect of this than will that's not my review, i paid this for it's sleep effects, and paid for powder so it's cheaper, but man it's harsh bad taste like most extracts. i wish if ND guys made a fast way for costumers to rate taste so if it's so bad we make sure we get the capsules or we at least get ready to what's coming smell/taste - experience 2/10 expected effects - experience ?/10 consistency - experience ?/10 over all - 2/10 Disapproved
This is by far the best tart cherry extract out there. It's a deep and dark purple. The taste is slightly tangy and quite nice without any sweetness. I'd say it's anti inflammatory effects are on par with NSAIDs, only this won't ruin your gut and the rest of your organs and instead has a myriad of other health benefits. I like it best with food post workout as that seems to prolong the effects and maybe helps with glucose metabolism. Another best in the business product from ND.
This is the best tart cherry extract I've ever seen. Probably the best on the market. It's deep deep purple, mixes well with water and slightly sour with no sweetness. Works great for recovery, and I find that it produces a nice mental clarity. The anti inflammatory effect is similar to NSAIDs without the gut and organ destroying side effects. Great product.
This is very messy as a powder. Bright color that stains. Tends to spill and if it touches water, streaks beyond belief. Go tablets.
I started taking tart cherry extract shortly after I realized my blood pressure runs a little high, now my blood pressure is great and stays that way. There are studies to back this effect up, a simple duck duck or google search will bring them right up.
I started taking this at the end of summer in '20 because the joint behind my big toe started hurting while I was gardening for some old ladies. To the point where I couldn't walk. Partly Bunion pain, partly because I was drinking alcohol a little more than usual, I also suffer from joint pain from being hyper-mobile (double-jointed). I started by taking 500 mg for about a month, then dropped back to the recommended 250 mg dose. This Tart Cherry has worked wonders! I still have a little bit of bunion pain, but its at a level that doesn't bother me and doesn't happen often. I still have pain in my spine, but I believe that is related to my c2/3 looking like > from past car accidents. I'm about to buy my second jar, Especially since its time to start gardening again.
Great product which really seems to be speeding post exercise recovery and preventing muscle cramps while surfing allowing me to get in the water more and surf better. It also has a calming effect which is nice to wind down after intense sessions. Highly recommend!
