Why Should I Take Vignatex?

Vignatex combines two powerful vitexin and isovitexin rich extracts from mung bean and passion flower. Mung bean produces powerful inflammation and oxidation regulating effects, paired with a strong undercurrent of stimulation. The stimulation is mostly coming from monoamine oxidase B inhibition (MAO-B), an enzyme which normally degrades dopamine and norepinephrine. When MAO-B is inhibited, dopamine and norepinephrine levels go up, which leads to focus, motivation and energy enhancing effects. Taken alone, this effect can be somewhat unbalanced, but when paired with passionflower, the effects are smoothed out slightly, leading to a very unique flow state like stimulating effect.*

While the mood elevating and focus enhancing effects are highlights of Vignatex, the pain management effects are also very unique and prominent.* This positions Vignatex as one of the more unique pain management supplements we offer, as it helps give you back the energy that pain can rob you from, while simultaneously promoting pain management!*

What is Vignatex?

Vignatex is a unique combination of Vigna radiata, better known as mung bean, and Passiflora incarnata, better known as passion flower. These plants are both high in two unique flavones, vitexin and isovitexin. These flavones, interestingly enough, are actually the glycosides of apigenin, with vitexin being apigenin-8-C-glucoside and isovitexin being apigenin-6-C-glucoside.

The mung bean extract that is being used is standardized to a whopping 10% vitexin and 10% isovitexin. While the passionflower extract is not standardized to a vitexin or isovitexin content, passionflower does contain significant levels of vitexin and isovitexin and we pick our passionflower extract based on subjective effects discovered during painstaking bioassaying.

The mung bean portion of Vignatex has a stimulating effect, while the passionflower portion of Vignatex reinforces the stimulating effects while also smoothing it out and bringing relaxing effects to the mix.* The end result is a wonderfully focused and mood boosting stack, which also has a lot of benefits for cytokine levels and pain management!* What we love most about Vignatex, is that it produces a pleasant relaxing effect throughout the body, which makes your muscles feel more limber and joints more comfortable!*

Vignatex Benefits & Uses

    • Promotes mental focus*
    • Enhances mood*
    • Promotes pain management*

A Powerful Ally For Body & Brain

For a long time, we were searching for a natural inhibitor of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) that also had pleasant overall effects. This took quite a while, but eventually we discovered that isovitexin could pull this trick off quite well! Next up, we had to find a source of isovitexin and quickly discovered that a culinary bean, mung beans, contained large quantities of both isovitexin and vitexin. Once we sourced a high vitexin and isovitexin extract, we bioassayed it, and were shocked by the powerful effects we received. Not only did we achieve the nootropic MAO-B inhibitor effects profile we were looking for, we also discovered significant pain management benefits!*

However, by itself, the mung bean felt a little bit unbalanced, leaning a little bit too much into “edgy” territory. We needed to figure out a way to temper mung beans effects profile, while also keeping the focus on vitexin and isovitexin. To our surprise, we discovered that passionflower also contains vitexin and isovitexin, and due to the fact that passionflower has a calming effect, we could now keep the focus on vitexin and isovitexin while reeling their effects in a little bit.* This did not turn out to be an easy task! Certain passion flower extracts actually further increased the stimulating effects of the mung bean extract. Ten or so bioassaying sessions later, we finally found the perfect passion flower extract. It took the edge off of the mungbean extract, and further increased the mood boosting properties of mung bean.* Once we got the ratios right, Vignatex was born, which displayed, in our opinions, a wonderful balance of effects! You may also be asking yourself, why the name Vignatex? This is based on the botanical name for mung bean Vigna radiata, and (iso)vitexin. Combine the two, and you’ve got Vignatex!

MAO-B is an enzyme which normally degrades dopamine and norepinephrine, and thus when MAO-B is blocked by Vignatex, both dopamine and norepinephrine levels increase.* For most, this is subjectively experienced as a clean stimulating nootropic effect with a pleasant uplifting mood boost.* Inhibition of MAO-B can also exert neuroprotective effects, mostly by preventing the creation of dopamine metabolites which are strong oxidants. When the MAO-B style stimulation is tempered by the mild GABAergic effects of passionflower, the effects become quite smooth, making it easy to attain “flow state” like focus!

Vignatex also does a fantastic job of mitigating pain via its powerful inflammation, oxidation and cytokine regulating effects.* Vitexin also has another trick up its sleeve, it can actually modulate neurological pain signaling by interacting with the TRPV1 receptor, which is the same receptor where capsaicin can exert its pain modulating effects.* Taken together, all of these mechanisms add up to a profound pain management effect.* This pain management effect also goes great with the MAO-B inhibition effects. Oftentimes, experiencing pain can make us feel dull, tired and unfocused. By targeting both the root cause of the pain with Vignatex, while providing stimulating nootropic effects, Vignatex helps tackle both the physical and mental effects of pain!*

Vignatex Stacks

Mental Focus Stack: Vignatex + Cognance Enhanced Bacopa Capsules

Vignatex comes on strong, slowly ramping up to a catecholamine centric stimulation, which we have found goes particularly well with the 5-HT2A effects of cognance. Together, Vignatex and Cognance produce a deep sense of focus and a strong undercurrent of creative energy!*

Mood Stack: Vignatex + Supercritical CO2 Coriander Extract Solution

Vignatex can be quite powerful, causing slightly too much stimulation for some. However, this stimulation can be smoothed out incredibly well with our supercritical coriander extract. The two together make for a wonderfully balanced, but powerful mood boosting stack!*

Pain Management Stack: Vignatex + Meriva Curcumin Phytosome Capsules

Vignatex exerts its pain management effect partially by modulating inflammation and oxidation, which is quite similar to meriva. However, they both achieve these effects via different targets, and thus, the stack of these two together makes for a powerful pain management stack!*

Vignatex Dosage

Okay but the passionflower is too strong...

Posted by Thabo Mpala on 27th Jun 2024

I was so excited to try this but its a hit and miss. I've tried it before with some success but most of the time, it makes me sleepy or too relaxed even on a day when I've had a good nights rest. I would love a stand-alone mung bean product but for now, I'll just use Tribugen which is also great when stacked with Sabroxy.

    Works great!

Posted by Deborah on 3rd Mar 2024

I used to take all the racetams, which are now so difficult to get. I ordered this stuff based on reviews but not expecting much. I never even heard of the herbs in this product as used for mood and focus. But I can honestly say this stuff works well. Its more subtle and less jittery than the racetams for me (even though I always took less than half the recommended doses). It works great on its own to improve mood, mental focus, and alertness. i get an extra kick when I pair it with Rhodiola or Bacopa. Definitely worth it and I will be ordering more!

    VIGNATEX

Posted by Janet Kelley on 25th Nov 2023

I was really impressed with this product in terms of my mood! It definitely removed the menopause irritability. I noticed by the end of the bottle that I felt calm and really content every day. Unfortunately it also seemed to erase ALL my motivation! I literally didn't feel like doing anything. I could do things I needed to do, but I didn't want to do anything but lay in my hammock and read! I think this would be a great product for someone else, or stacked with something to take care of the motivation problem I had. Any suggestions?

Great cross between stimulation and relaxation

    Posted by J on 16th Sep 2023

Really enjoying this. I've tried practically every product that ND sells and this has become one of my favorites. It provides this nice relaxed stimulation. I tend to be anxiety prone, and it's the rare stimulant that is motivating without being too pushy. Kinda similar to aniracetam. Having said that, while I've been trialing it for a few months now, I mostly take it on the weekend; still trying to decide if it relaxes me a bit too much for the workday.

    This Product Helped Me Tremendously

Posted by Cindy Crawley on 28th Mar 2023

I’ve been trying various supplements for many years with no success, just going from one to another. So I turned to nootropics. Recently tried Vignatex. I’m not a slug anymore. I’m happy thinking about all the things I want to accomplish and can now. Before Vignatex I could barely make myself take a shower. I am having trouble sleeping due to the V but listening to ND podcasts to figure that out. I’ve tried Sabroxy but it didn’t do as well for me.

    Love Vignatex

Posted by Brandon on 3rd Mar 2023

I wanted to take this for several weeks before forming an opinion. Fortunately, I can definitely recommend Vignatex! Glad I can be the first on here to show it some love. I have a pretty balanced viewpoint, and if something doesn’t produce noticeable effects, I pretty much write it off and never repurchase it again (instead of getting excited over the idea of something and falling victim to placebo), so when I say something’s real, it’s real. This gives me a boost in mood/focus similarly to caffeine but feels really smooth and clean imo. I think the passionflower addition compliments it perfectly, actually. It also works through different mechanisms than a lot of other stimulating supplements, so it’s worth adding if you get the chance. I didn’t like noopept, synapsa, bacognize, l-theanine, countless others - pretty much everything except lion’s mane 8:1 tbh, and now this. Unless I begin experiencing new, unpleasant side effects, this makes my permanent stack! One star knocked off for price point. A month’s supply is a touch pricey.

    Works

Amazing product it helped with my studies to extend the focus and overall duration. I am wondering if this can be paired with cholinergics?

Slows movement significantly - unexpectedly more detrimental than beneficial

Posted by Adam Rolison on 31st Dec 2022

Passionflower maybe too high? I'd love an option to take both these ingredients separately. Also, this actually is nice to take in the evenings when you want to relax and maintain some focus. But the lack of motivation and/or physical activation is notable, so be wary.
