A Message From Our CEO, Paul

At Nootropics Depot, our mission is much bigger than just selling you another supplement. When I started this company almost 13 years ago, I set off on a journey to revolutionize the lab testing and quality control standards of the supplement industry. Our health matters, and you should be able to trust the products you buy. I am right there with you in that concern, as I am a biohacker and supplement enthusiast myself. I take many of our products, and give them to my friends and family. A lot of our efforts are because I want access to the best supplements available, and because I am passionate about the science. Unfortunately, the industry standard is not good enough, and I no longer trust things that I cannot oversee personally. Today, Nootropics Depot is as much a way for me to develop the best products for myself as it is a place for you to buy the best supplements for you and your family.

Our industry is flooded with shortcuts and empty claims. It’s a field full of lies, fraud, and deceit. My anger at the bad actors that we call competitors only fuels me in my mission to change things. That’s why our commitment to science and transparency isn’t just marketing fluff. It’s in all of our DNA! Every product we create is backed by research, standardized to bioactive compounds, and rigorously tested at ISO-accredited labs. You’d think that would be the industry standard, but that’s far from the case. I wasn’t satisfied with the ISO-accredited labs that were available to us, so I created Omnient Labs. I found like-minded scientists and PhD researchers to help me build a world-class analytical and research facility to help not only develop the best supplements in the world, but to study how they are working in the body. Our isolation and reference standard creation lab allows us to pull apart these plants and mushrooms, and determine the unique bioactives inside them. Then our new cell culture lab is allowing us to show exactly how each supplement, and those unique bioactives we isolated, act and affect various human cells. This is allowing us to both understand how these amazing natural products work in the body, and then to make novel standardized extracts that didn’t exist before. When you buy from us, you support that scientific effort. Ordering from us doesn’t just get you the best supplements; ones that I have personally overseen the development of. It helps fund our greater mission of pushing the standards of this industry forward.

In addition to my mission of pushing the lab testing and quality control standards forward, another thing that has been a passion of mine has been helping to educate people on how this industry works, and their rights as consumers to be able to know how the products they are putting into their bodies are made. You’ve probably seen a lot of other brands parroting the word transparency lately. It has become a buzzword that many companies are using to trick consumers into complacency. Transparency isn’t a buzzword for us. It’s a promise to lead by example, and show you what real transparency really looks like. We are the only supplement brand in the world to have our FDA registration certificate, cGMP certificate, and ISO accreditation publicly posted on every single product page. It’s easy to say words like our competitors do; words meant to trick and mislead you. It’s a lot harder to actually show evidence of the claims being made. You can view Certificates of Analysis and lab results for each product, plus research snapshots that show you the current evidence for our products. We’re here for people who want to know exactly what they’re putting in their bodies; people like you who actually read the research and want to understand the products they are buying.

I also was not satisfied with all this information only coming from us. I wanted to hold it to a higher standard. This is why I formed our scientific advisory board. Again, since we have formed this board, multiple of our competitors have started to do the same. However, what they have not done is actually show consumers what this board does. Ours is not an attempt to rubber stamp claims or as marketing window dressing. I formed this board with a double board certified doctor, PhD nutritional counselor, PhD plant biologist, and herbalist & ethnobotanist. My vision was to create a diverse board of professionals with different perspectives, backgrounds, and expertise. If you only get a doctor’s opinion, you don’t get a holistic picture of what the science says. I wanted a board that would actually look critically at our claims and the science. I wanted to let the science dictate what we say about our products, not tailor the science to the claims we want to see. Our scientific advisory board actually looks in detail at all the evidence, and we go back and forth many times over claims or studies. If they determine a claim is not substantiated, we change the claim. If they determine a study is not robust enough, we find ones that are, or scrap statements if we cannot. It has really helped myself and my team to look critically at what we do, and always tie us back into what the science says. Just like with our other efforts, we show you the details of that, so you can make your own conclusions based on the evidence. Thank you to everyone that has put their trust in me, and helped me to push through the many challenging times we have had. I believe our mission matters. Your health matters, and you have a right to know exactly what you are putting into your body. You have a right to buy from brands that take science seriously, and are passionate about trying to advance things, not just profit off selling you supplements.
