Magnesium is a vital mineral that is used in many biological processes. For example, it is a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems! It is also one of the most common minerals that people are deficient in so it is important to take a good Magnesium supplement. This is not the easiest thing to find though as Magnesium supplements are plagued by bad absorption and there are a few different reasons for this. The main cause is magnesium's physical properties. Most of the Magnesium that we ingest is absorbed in our small intestines through small spaces called tight junctions. Absorption through tight junctions is dependent largely on the size of the compound, its solubility, and its pH. These three issues all make it very hard for Magnesium to be absorbed.
Still a bit early to judge, but so far I'm pleased
If you're on this page, it's more than likely that you already know the beneficial properties of both magnesium and glycine (namely, on sleep, anxiety and plenty of other symptoms). Hence, I'll skip these reflections while focusing on a few other aspects. First of all, this is probably the most pure, easily absorbable (fully chelated) and cheap product on the market (as always, Nootropics Depot cares more about your health than their own business). Thus, if you really need this supplement, look no further. This is the best bang for your buck. Of course you'll get the full potential only through consistent and cumulative use, but even then, it's not guaranteed it will work for you personally (due to soil depletion all around the world, most of us get less magnesium compared to our ancestors, but if you have a balanced diet it doesn't mean you actually need this, categorically speaking). Secondly, if you live outside the US, expect an hefty price due to shipping and an even bigger time of wait (it took one month to show up in my mail, here in Italy). Be patient, please. Last but not least, my anecdote is that you need type "0" capsules and a measuring scale to truly gauge the item's potential. Also, for some people, magnesium is actually stimulating; so use it in the morning rather than at night. For me, the real problem is that I have increased urination with magnesium, which is indirectly detrimental to sleep. If you want it to act faster and with less water though, you could use it sublingually (but keep in mind that the taste is atrocious). Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and I would recommend Nootropics Depot.
